So i recently purchased a Nikon D40.  Around 10 years ago, I wanted to do photography but couldnt afford it so I did what I could with point-and-shoot cameras, but gave that up after awhile.  But for the past years I have been getting out more and going to conventions, so after I took pictures at a anime con, then I saw what my friend took with his DSLR (and his was sooooooooooooooooooo much better), so i decided to take photography back up.  I mentioned it to my friend (same guy who took pics at the anime con) about taking up photography and he pointed me to the Nikon D40, I looked it up and saw that it's in my price range (i didn't want to spend a lot on a camera in case I wasn't in to it as I thought i would be, plus I don't plan to make any money off of it, just as a hobby) and found a really great deal on craiglist.  Several other photographer friends told me I made a good choice as far as camera choice.
